• Education: Rutherford & Forest Heights Schools: Edmonton, AB. Walked from Forest Heights to Technical School one day a week - 15 miles. Quit Grade 9 at Christmas to deliver the 'Albertan' newspaper. Took Airforce Correspondance Course to complete Grade 12.

Attended Canadian Nazarene College 1950 -1955 - Bachelor of Theology courses.

• Cremation, 1993, Vancouver, BC. Ashes spread off Quadra Island, BC.

Garfield married Tabea Oldach, daughter of Andrew Oldach and Marianna Alvina Pohl, on 15 Jun 1940 in Edmonton, AB. (Tabea Oldach was born on 5 May 1921 in Poland.)
